Alan Murray

Alan Murray is a Philadelphia-based journalist, entrepreneur, education consultant and project manager. He is the CEO and founder of Uncharted, where he oversees the design and development of an exploration community for outdoor adventure travelers. Alan has extensive experience working for newspapers, magazines, and websites as a reporter, photographer, and editor. His work has included assignments such as the Olympics, the NCAA, and long-term multimedia projects. Alan was awarded public service honors for saving lives through his work documenting the impact caused by a shortage of donations of life-saving organs. He was honored with a Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Gold Key Award for his service in journalism education. Alan also works as a leadership and education consultant, helping clients formulate their vision, develop curriculum, and build websites. Some of his work includes designing an online journalism course for Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) and developing websites for the National Radio Orienteering Championships and Aunt Clara’s Creations. Alan is a licensed Project Management Professional (PMP®) and holds degrees and certificates in Journalism, Spanish, Portuguese, and Applied Project Management. He also has a Master of Professional Studies in technology entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland.
